You only bleach white towels

HPV is a virus. Genital HPV types are types that are most commonly transmitted during vaginal and oral sex. It can also be transmitted during hand to genital or oral sex.
Your Pap test probably saw abnormal cell changes and a second test immediately follows showing that you were positive for high grade HPV types. Our HPV test does not screen for low risk HPV types because they are rarely seen in cancer. Having high risk HPV types only means you have one of the high risk HPV types…not that you are higher risk for cervical cancer. Your pap probably showed Low-grade Squamous Intraepithelial.

The virus is shed through the normal process of shedding body cells and these viral enter the mucous membranes of the cervix or other genital tissue through micro-abrasions. Micro-abrasions are common during sex…the friction of skin on skin.

The virus is a large family of types. The types are numbered in the orders in which there were logged into our scientific data. All on the body are of the large human papilloma family. The virus types that affect our genital area are genital HPV types. They are 40 genital HPV types.
These HPV types are divided into two categories low risk HPV types – those types not seen in cancer and high risk HPV types – those types that are seen in genital cancers.

In 90% of the young woman who have been diagnosed with low grade cell changes the virus will regress in a year or two due to the body’s immune system. Once these low grade cell changes regress the abnormal cell changes return to normal.

High risk HPV types are the cause of all cervical cancer but most (90%) HPV infections do not progress to cervical cancer due to routine pap testing and a health immune system. It is not know why some women with the virus do have re-occurrences. Routine Pap testing allows our doctors to continually monitoring our cervix this allows for the doctor to see abnormal cell changes early, and treat when needed. The virus cans re-active years after the initial infection was acquired and we can acquire new HPV types. Routine Pap testing can prevent cervical cancer.

The peek age of acquiring an HPV is from 20 to 24. This is due to the transformation zone in the cervix being relatively large. This is an area of immature columnar and metaplastic cells especially susceptible to HPV. Adolescents also may have incomplete local immunity. There may be increased susceptibility to minor trauma during sexual intercourse and they may have inadequate production of cervical mucus, which acts as a barrier to infection

Condoms help in the regression of the virus and condoms help in the healing of the cervix and condoms reduce viral load.

The virus can be frustrating…but knowledge will tell you that you do have lots of control over the virus…with routine pap testing, a healthy lifestyle and consistent use of condoms. Telling future sex is they may already carry an HPV type or two. You may also want to talk with your doctor about the vaccine. You may not receive full benefits of the vaccine but you will probably receive some. The vaccine does not treat the HPV infection that you already have.

Simple lifestyle changes may help the virus regress…eating a balanced diet…5 to 7 servings of fruits and veggies, getting good sleep..8 hours…our bodies cells heal in stage four sleep…limit alcohol…exercise…and if you are in a relationship consider using condoms…they prevent the transmission of the virus but studies do show they help in the regression of the virus and may aid in healing the cervix.

I am sure your doctor recommended a time frame for follow up repap testing…follow his advice or the advice of your new doctor.

• ASC—Atypical Squamous Cells. Squamous cells are the thin, flat cells that form the
surface of the cervix. The Bethesda System divides this category into two groups:
1. ASC–US—Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance. The squamous cells do not appear completely normal, but doctors are what the cell changes mean. Sometimes the changes are related to HPV infection. An HPV test may be done to clarify the findings.
2. ASC–H—Atypical Squamous Cells cannot exclude a High-grade squamous
intraepithelial abnormality. Intraepithelial refers to the layer of cells that forms the surface of the cervix. The cells do not appear normal, but doctors are what the cell changes mean. ASC–H may indicate a higher risk of being precancerous compared with ASC–US.
• AGC—Atypical Glandular Cells. Glandular cells are mucus-producing cells found in
the endocervical canal (opening in the center of the cervix) or in the lining of the uterus. The glandular cells do not appear normal, but doctors are what the cell changes mean.
• AIS—endocervical Adenocarcinoma In Situ. Precancerous cells are found in the
glandular tissue.
• LSIL—Low-grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion. Low-grade means there are early changes in the size and shape of the cells. The word lesion refers to an area of abnormal tissue. LSILs are considered mild abnormalities caused by HPV infection and are a common condition, especially among young women. The majority of LSILs return to normal over months to a few years.
